Another thought came to my head. Could psychic abilities like Telekinesis or Ki-Balls end up mutilating your body after much use like psycho-power from Street Fighter? And if it does, any way to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

I like to think of it as weight lifting. If you go for the largest ones first you might get hurt. If you improve over time, rest, and learn your limits chances are you'll be fine.
