How do you sense energy in a room? How do you know if you are sensing good positive energy or something darker, and evil energy?

This is what I feel mostly in my daily life. Don't know how to explain how I sense it, it's something natural.

It feels like a dense pressure on my body when I'm in the vicinity of it.

I feel it kineastetically, in my guts.

that seems to be the common method.

my sub-conscious tells me as soon as i sense the anomalies' energy

When I feel nervous or sick or cold must be negative power, when I feel warm close peaceful and joy that must be positive power

i do really badly i dont get cold or hot i get mad really really mad and when im around a very good person i get happy

It is strange how you can just walk into a room and within a micro second can sense "bad juju" then there are other people who can't even sense a person walking behind them!

ive pondered on that very same thing and all i can think of is the immediate bad energy in a place just gets sent to you and you instantly know that its bad or good

its certainly part of extrasensory perception.

I once got that feeling greatly when I was swinging on a vine in the woods near where I live, and it turned out there was someone there. I have gotten that feeling before in the woods, but that time might have been greater. I remember it well, I was walking to the exit of the forest, and out of the corner of my eye I saw something as a tree blocked what it was quickly. I stood there and turned my head a bit until I saw what it was, at first I thought it was a person, and then I thought it was an inanimate object. I then saw it sway left/right a bit, so I knew what it was, but before I saw anything, I might have felt his presence. The point of the story is, swinging on vines is fun!

I love churches for their raw energy. Just go sit in a pew at a service and watch the crowd in front of you. That much spiritual belief is so dense, you can pretty much see it over the heads of the congregation. Its amazing. As for bad energy, I don't feel it at all. I don't believe in energy being bad or good, its just energy. The person that gives of the energy can however, make its receiver feel bad, IMO.

How do you sense energy in a room?

Interestingly enough I've never spent too much time trying to define this according to the definitions others place upon it, most likely because I've experienced it my entire life. Like you said Mark, it is definitely a gut feeling that is a learned trust in one's own senses and perceptions. For me however its an instinctual reaction that I either block once I feel it or I let it through and interpret what it is I'm sensing. I will say that in every case, I tend to sense the energy before I can even choose to block it or not. Energy sensitivity has been one of my key indicators for people, ghosts/spirits, places and of impending events foretold and from the past. As with all things involving our perceptions and our senses I believe that the accuracy in interpretation is directly proportional to our belief in ourselves.

Talk about "gut" instinct! lol Here, it is rather self-exposed to me. In a flash I am able to sense the presence of good positive brilliant energy from people and especially involving ghosts and spirits. When the presence is of a darker nature, especially of dark spirits its a flash perception due to the degree of empathic sensitivity that I trust in my perceptions.
I've told others in my sphere that one of the most critical things I consider to my ability to sense and interpret such presences is the core belief that I carry around with me that I am always protected from dark presences by the light that is always with me! This understanding I find works to my benefit because I spend less time worrying about being overly intruded upon by these dark presences and that dark energy and I find that I'm able to focus my attention on my interpretation of what I'm sensing.

I've come to accept that "Fear" is the great opposition and the doorway to intrusion upon ourselves by dark spirits and the like, and becoming intimately comfortable with one's own psychic and empathic senses and perceptions is the best way to trust in the core bright and brilliant nature of our own spirits that keeps darkness at bay. If someone places more attention to how afraid they are of what they are sensing than what it truly is that they are sensing it detracts from the cognitive process of interpreting it accurately and placing it upon the shelf of reality instead of fear.
