Mediums are people who report to have the ability to make connection with a being from the astral plane(spirits). Mediumship is the ability they perform and possess. Mediums are like a bridge between the two worlds. They receive information from unknown beings and send the informations to others by letting the spirit gain use of their physical body while they're in a deep hypnotic state.
Ways of mediumship are:
Seances
Divination
Meditation
They're are different things happening while you in a seance(doesn't matter if you're the medium or a participant). You will notice change of temperature in the room. That means that the portal is opening. You will feel something flying around you or watching. This is a clear sign of the entity's presence. Most of these phenomenons which happens especially during seances cannot be seen by our own physical eyes(psychics can sometimes). That's why it's best to take pictures or better yet to record the event. It's in that tape that you would see amazing things! Like orbs and ectoplasms.
Some mediums can provide an amazing evidence that no one can decline. Like maybe table tilting. But this is the work of an really professional medium: Some mediums(mostly in the 19th century) had reported the phenomenon of levitation during their seances. A great example of this is the great D. D. Home. So these are extraordinary experiences of communications with ghosts. Which for me makes mediums really important and strong psychics.

Is anyone here an medium ? I simply love this topic and I do many forms of divination. Never conducted a circle around a table or a table tilting seance though.

We did have a medium here but we scared her off with Religious bigotry, which wasn't cool.

I've taken part in seances before, the most memorable in the crypt of Oxford castle where the woman leading the seance was attacked by a spirit during a Ouija board session. That was an interesting night! I would love to lead a full seance like the one in your picture.

i was part of several seances, too. i have a very gifted medium here in my town and visited several meditation evenings of him.
everytime it was a different experience. the first time i was there, i felt an energy spiral through my swadhisthana chakra. that was the most weird moment in my life. simultaneously the most peaceful. after that every muscle of my body was shaking for 10 minutes or so. after that i felt like new born. fresh and clean.
the second time the experience was not physical. i only heard a huge choir singing to the music that was played there. strange ^^
the last time i was there, i saw a lightshow in front of my inner eye.
other people are crying and sreaming the shit out of themselves when they are there. some do not need to breath for minutes, what i experienced, too.
once i took a friend with me. after the event, the only thing he said was "i was the ground floor"
yeah.. mediumship is damn cool ! if you've got the right spirits by your side.

Indeed. That's why it's best not to do it alone(if you have a partner). Otherwise do it safely.

It can be so. Maybe you have to raise your vibe more. But at the same time it's kinda ok because you don't want to be receiving messages from certain non-human entities or even human entities. But it's normal, you may have to just wake up your psychic muscles more and whenever sense or even see a spirit, talk to it. It's the craziest thing I love doing with my abilities. Because thinking logically, most people would just fear ghosts.

I see... I would love to actually converse with a spirit. I should have a fun time in Gettysburg this summer, I hope to converse with some spirits there!

Not that I can think of. Most of the times these spirits comes to us themselves because they're attracted to people who can see them or possess some kind of paranormal ability or gift.

Mark, yes I am! A few years ago we went and it was extremely fun. We as in a small group of friends. While we were going there we stopped at Lancaster, which is an Amish filled place, and had fun there. In Gettysburg, we went on many tours, and a lame ghost tour, but on that tour we may have actually caught a ghost. There was a house with reports of ghosts of children, and when my friend took a picture there appeared to be a child's face in the window. We went to Devils Den, I was hoping for some spirit action there, all we had was a few blurry camera pictures, but it was fun there anyway. Oh i'd say it was better than our trip to The Outer Banks, and it could never be repeated, but we'll try this year. Anyway, now that I'm a bit more spiritually developed and going to Gettysburg, which is know for the war of course but also the ghosts, I hope to have ghost encounters. Last time, we supposedly stayed in a haunted hotel, but I have my doubts about that. Oh yeah, I think this time we will be going to more ghost like things, as last time we ran out of things to do quickly. It was a trip worth every penny, and we didn't even spend too much. You could go, but you live in England so it'd be a bit complicated, but it'd really be worth it!

My new friend, Cara, told me she's a medium. I might as well invite her 2 my birthday party this year; which is in a week.
