| You know at school, in geography, they taught us the world looks like this?  Well this image, which has been burned into our conscious minds is wrong. This image was designed for sailing and it distorted in size and dimensions. Notice Greenland, look at the size of it. Now look at the whole continent of Africa. They look about the same size right? Would you be shocked to hear Africa is actually 14x the size of Greenland? That you could fit 14 Greenlands in Africa? Africa is enormous.  The whole top and bottom of the map is massively over sized. Alaska looks the same size as Mexico when Mexico is in fact much larger. The whole of South America looks about the same size as Europe: wrong. Pretty interesting I thought! |

| Its to make us 'western' countries (USA, UK and Europe) look bigger and thus more powerful and important.
Its one more example of how 'they' control our perceptions. |
