Well, there is a meditation you can do, and over time you can regulate body temperatures. That's how one man swims in near freezing water for... hours is it? I don't know how long he swims, but the point is that you can regulate it with meditation, but I think it just speeds up your metabolism, which heats you up, and eventually could kill you if you ran out of food, so if you are in a dire situation you have to choose, warmth, or food. If you know you'll only be in a cold temperature for a short time, it'd be alright to use up your food supply, but if you know you'll be in a cold temperature for a long time, decide when you need to use it. It'd be alright to use it when your cold at home, because I'll assume you have a significant amount of food stored in you house.
