Mark please tell me whether or not you had to abstain or did you just take a break from sex, for your training? Or did you continue? I've read somewhere that we should not train for 3 days after intercourse. My girl is annoyed because I've read this in the magus of java multiple times and it says that... Please say it ain't so.. Lol don't get me wrong I love sex so much but if I need to stop it for personal benefits then I will. Someone please clarify this for me! Thanks in advance!

Some people says to don't have sex to accumulate more sexual energy. Actually, is not to don't have sex, is not ejaculate. When we ejaculate we lost some energy, what they call by vital force. But some people also say that we can do sex and replenish this energy doing pranayama.Because everything is energy isn't?

That's a tough one. I also have a difficulty with it.

But then again, I've read the same thing from various sources (not only the magus of java but also yoga books and people whose personal experience I trust).

Owltwelve said that it's definitely possible without abstinence but it will take a lot longer to develop.

I think the main idea is to practise concentration whenever possible. I think abstinence is basically a concentration practice and psychokinesis is all about concentration.

With the few years that I have attempted to give up the sex urge, I have gotten the impression that it's not only about sex. To me it seems that it's about giving up everything that is pleasurable or comforting (old lifestyle and old thought patterns). So far whenever I have refrained from ejaculation for some time, it has happened on its own.

Here's the cycle:

It happens. I feel hungry and eat a lot.
I try to avoid any thoughts or feelings that relate to the urge.
A few weeks or so without problems.
I notice that I'm constantly feeling exhausted. Sleeping a lot. Can barely eat at all because food just doesn't digest.
I have a wet dream about something completely random: a fancy compression algorithm, a piece of electronics, girls, etc.
I wake up, feeling bad about it. It's suddenly very difficult again to avoid thoughts and feelings that relate to the urge.

This reminds me that I just visited the kitchen and took a snack again while writing this. Shouldn't do that.

Sometimes it has helped if I have focused strong on the crown or 3rd eye - the energy density is evened out. However, this doesn't work when I'm already saturated (feeling exhausted and food doesn't digest too well anymore). So, I would have to practise pranayama or something daily while at the same time maintaining the optimal mindstate to overcome all of my thought patterns and other habits. To me it seems as if abstinence is about changing the whole attitude towards everything - how you walk, what you feel while walking, how you act, how you think .. pay attention to every little detail of yourself and design it consciously.

I find it tough. Somehow it used to be easier. But then again, even back then it took me years of self-conditioning before the upfall & downfall.

There is no correct way mate. You can have a sexual life and still train. If it's balanced, you'll even have a boost of that sexual energy. Don't go for everything exactly as you read them. Find your path. About the ejaculation thing, you do loose energy. But it's fine to do it. Neither an inner or outer orgasm is better then one another. Each of them has their good and bad. Example, outer orgasm drains energy if you do it too much. But holding orgasms to much is also bad for your prostate and PC muscles. So it's best not to stick to one way only if you intend on still being sexual. Think about it in a more spiritual way: outer orgasms are better for manifestation. Inner orgasms are better for healing.

I think celibacy is probably better for retaining energy.

Especially if you do a lot of yoga inverted handstands/headstands to send the energy up toward the Ajna chakra to awaken powers.

On the other hand, I know you can do the same with a long-term boyfriend/girlfriend partner from Tantra studies. But that would be harder.

...abstinence is just easier.

Besides, all that time you could be having fun with your bf/gf you could spend training... Lol

Hi when practising to develop the energy of chakars you should avoid sex because to trying to increase your satvik urja (positive energy) when you do sex then you increase your tamasik urja

Why do you really need to avoid sex(unless it's abusive and against someone's will)? There's a lot of talk on the chakras here. All interesting and philosophical. We surely believe them. Yet when a transmetal Christian believes strongly in his/her bible some of us calls them strictly religious. Realize that we are also as strictly religious as these people without even knowing. It's the hard truth, and I know I've been so as well and only realized it yesterday(check out the thread 'new age is just another religion').
We are limiting ourselves in ways that we shouldn't. Why do we need to avoid sex to gain positive energt other then because what someone else wrote? Why does kundalini awakening give enlightenment? Why do most people need to open their third eye for psychic ability and call others 'asleep'? Ego is ruling over this new age dogma and it may be hard to accept(it was for me) but you'll get over it.
I say do whatever you want. As long as it's not damaging to others or yourself, go on.
Being spiritual is about a shift of consciousness. To love more deeply, practice kindness, seeing through illusions, and being able to enter the void and simply allow yourself to explore. Not chakras, crystals, yoga, witchcraft, religion or anything like that. They might help you understand and build philosophies but they our not true spirituality.

It's not about belief. Experiment yourself and see what works for you and how. Also, most of the yogic books out there are written for male monks. Energy moves different in males than it does in females.

Each time I ejaculate, I feel the energy levels dropping. If my channels are too dirty and energy is no longer flowing, then the body automatically resolves the issue by ejaculation.

Also, I've studied the formation of habits a little and it seems that a human body is trained the same way as animals. If you eat every day at a specific time, then you start getting hungry by that time. It develops into a habbit, then into an addiction and then it'll start controlling your life. It's the same with sex, so be very careful about masturbation, p*rn and other stuff.

Unless your energy channels are clean, I wouldn't suggest the practice of tantric sex. It would probably cause the loss of energy. And once your channels are clean, you no longer have a craving for sex anyway - the energy goes all the way up the chakras, being transformed from lower to higher frequencies on the way. Sexual attraction, distraction and desires linger in the lower chakras only.

The ceiling of our abilities are not what we can measure empirically (aka science). It's closer to what we can imagine with enough concentration.

I hear you and agree with many of what you said. But my question is why does our chakras need to be aligned to gain balance? There are many claims and some proofs of psychic abiliuties. Yet it is not always something we can measure by the naked eye. So not to start an argument, science doesn't know the answer to everything. But that doesn't mean that everything we hear about metaphysics and new age concepts are true either. If I kinda bring misunderstanding to this I'm sorry but this is my point:

Sex can be unhealthy if it becomes an addictions. Stuff like porn are fake media concepts to drive people(like you said yourself) like animals. But to be mindful of your action can allow you to use sexuality for better purposes. For healing yourself and better compassion with a partner without addiction.
Without any need of including the chakras and energy. That draining sensation you feel after ejaculation is the release of sterotonin, which feels like a natural high but later like a sad, empty or depressing moment. Some people like that state of high which often leads to addiction. But to know when to have an inner orgasm and outer orgasm will make you more aware when doing it and also with a clear purpose of doing it you'll find more reason to support it. This is where I think tantra is beneficial. Though holding orgasms in for long period of time isn't healthy either, it is beneficial when done time after time. Hope I clarified this for you.

I can only add that I think the sexual energy can be harnessed and used to great spiritual effect: however, unless you really know what you are doing, have clear energy channels as others have said, discipline and focus, it will probably slide back into being just a waste of energy ...
and think about it, most normal people masturbate indiscriminately, and remain powerless.

If you want to be stronger and different, your actions also have to be stronger and different from the 'normal'.

There is definitely something going on with the sex energy. I think the ancient techniques of truly harnessing it are probably lost...

Honestly I almost fell for this trap or it was in the back of my mind, but months ago I was able to experience levitation during a time I was training for it and also sexually active which made me completely convinced that this was made up to a degree by trainers with subjective beliefs or who had been conned into thinking it significantly drains their energy levels from the eternal within.

There are many ways to raise the electrical vibrations of the energy body at any given time and there are people who can go without food and water for several days perfectly healthy, not to mention sex is a process that circulates and raises the energies inside and out. My suggestions are things like taoist internal alchemy, tummo, and tai chi. Classic pranayama also works but is a little more demanding. I have plenty of books if anybody wants them. All you need to do is be yourself and stay focused at heart in whatever goal you strive for.

Actual levitation, you claim? Well well well. Until I see proof of that, maybe a video, I am going to stick with the opinion of the several Yoga masters with powers I have seen with my own eyes that believe abstinence and control are faster and superior methods of getting energy to rise and activate the higher energy centres.

Nope, I've experienced it for myself enough times in practice to know that it's real although spontaneous (9 significant, and 13 with lesser experiences total). I don't know the mechanism to activate it at will at the current moment but it's manifested consistently the past 6 months since July at least once a month (so far this month twice).

I consider training the energy body and meridians circulation, raising electrical vibrations and trance far more valuable then any sort of abstinence or fasting. I read one of the original yoga books "Gheranda Samitha" written 300 years ago and they mentioned nothing about abstinence besides a balanced diet for health. There are people who've studied this for years with no results while this is my first year since awakening and studied more deeply on the energy channeling side after I became more clairvoyant. If you are dedicated to your exploration and master your energy in stillness and calm I think anything is possible. It's more about growing and being yourself to learn comfortably with discernment rather then being bound to moral codes.

There's also trance methods to raise the the third eye that work way better then any sort of abstinence in my opinion, I think people who are still new to raising vibrations in the lower physical centers such as the dantian believe that retention helps when it's really just learning more and dedication like simple techniques.

Sexuality is a bridge to higher realms of consciousness. This is the best-kept secrecy protected by ancient "gods" who forced people who followed them to do castration/FGM (this is still happening) and they taught for thousands of years that sexuality is bad in order to control the humanity, so they won't find their way to freedom. So if some people say to avoid sex - it's another deceptive way of turning away from it without understanding what it's all about. Sexuality connects you with a frequency of ecstasy, which connects you to higher levels of consciousness which can heal and stimulate the body and potentially lead it to its higher spiritual self. However be careful to not make love with people who you don't love, because when your energies exchange you're bonding with them and you can invite the wrong energies in.

When you create sexual energy, you can learn how to use that energy, for example by moving/rising through your body to higher chakras or use it in other areas by meditation techniques. So don't be afraid and keep practising and exploring that sexual energy/frequency.
