Many people believe that mirrors act as "portals" to spirits. Many "haunted" houses have no mirrors, or mirrors painted black. So, what's with mirrors? Also how many "portals" are there? I know that Ouija boards are portals. Finally, why are these "portals" in the first place?

I agree. Some people(especially children) can see things in a mirror. It can be like a portal yes, especially if your someone who's constantly busy with spirituality like most of us.

I deduce that because the superficial reality (what we perceive) 'reflects' the fundamental reality, whatever reflects the superficial reality may in turn show the fundamental reality, at least partially. Once you can perceive the fundamental reality, you can access it more easily. Once you fully access the fundamental reality, nothing is impossible. This idea is in line with the holographic universe theory.

From what I was told, mirrors will only act as a portal when a stimuli or some kind of trigger is presented, just like ouija boards(when someone uses it) or a person carrying an object and treasuring it then the owner dies, something like that.

thats why chinese fengshui told us no mirrors in bedroom. especially don't make mirror straight forward to bed

I just heard from someone that he suffered from nightmares when place a mirror on a table horizontally and they were gone after standing it upright. This is interesting because we rarely place a mirror horizontally. I might try this later when I'm strong enough.
