Its emerged today that famous Athiest Richard Dawkins has allegedly said that telling children fairy stories (and about Christmas) is bad for them, that it encourages them to think of the world as 'magical'.
I would argue that it is. What 'fairy stories' did you parents tell you when you were growing up?

My parents told me the usual ones like the Tooth fairy, Easter bunny, and Santa. I think that these fairy tales are part of what makes a childhood fun. I don't really see anything wrong in telling children tales like these.

There is 'sinterklaas' from Holland which is also a part of our own culture. I enjoy urban legends and myths more but I'll try to share what I can find .
