What if we're actually looking through time on a regular basis? Actually, we are. How? The answer is the stars. Those beautiful tiny dots shinning brightly at night. Actually, those gigantic mass of energy are perceived by us lightyears away. Meaning about 6 trillion miles ahead, which is more than 10 thousand years from Earth. Technically speaking, we're seeing those stars as they were about 10 thousand years ago. So we're looking into the past. Maybe those stars don't even exist anymore. Maybe new stars already came but their light didn't reach us yet.
