I was walking home last night and a black cat ran across the path I was walking. This is considered in my culture at least to be a sign of bad luck. Does it mean that in your countries also?

I don't believe in luck per se, but it is interesting the things which some people think bring them luck, be it good or bad. I know a woman for example who thinks opening a packet of crisps (chips) upside down is lucky...

Some more common examples are things like walking under a ladder is bad luck or breaking a mirror is seven years bad luck. Things which bring good luck include carrying the foot of a dead rabbit? say what? Lol

Can you think of any more? What things are lucky in your country?

we are also considered(cat across the path) as bad luck and in our area we should not ask anything to anyone who is leaving
out ie asking where do you go like that and we consider if mirror broken as bad sign my frnd.........

I also believe in both the breaking mirror and the black cat thing. Here at Curacao when someone passed away at home we fill a bucket full of water and throw it in the deceased's direction while he/she is being taken away. My family told me it's for letting him/her spirit go in peace and creating a good atmosphere and not let the spirit haunt the area.

Another one here is that if you have salt in your hand you have to throw it over your shoulder, you can't just drop it.

When a bird gets a poop on your head, that's good luck 4 some particular reason.
