I realized there are no threads on this(or maybe I'm not looking well) so let's discuss about it. Spiritual awakening is not the same as enlightenment. The awakening process is the realization of your spiritual belief. Whatever religion you are. You will start to see the truth of reality in your point of view and not by others. Without spiritual awakening, one will not be able to seek the path of Enlightenment. Enlightenment is the state in which one reaches self-realization and becoming the master of one's own mind. A state in which one possesses no erroneous perceptions, views, speech or behaviour.
This is where Buddha plays a roll. Most people from other religions think that Buddhists worship another god ect. But no, they follow Buddha's teachings and honor him. Unlike other religions, Buddha was just a REAL man like any of us. He was a prince. And he became enlighten. That's why there's Buddhism. For the people who follows his teachings to reach the state of enlightenment. Of course you don't have to be a Buddhist to do so either. We are fine as we are .

That's a good question. But I strongly believe Buddha Gautama was born before Jesus Christ.

yea buddha was atleast 100-1000 years before jesus christ but there teachings are so similar

Yes about 500 years earlier I think. And also yes because I think Jesus became a guru in his teenage years before he came back to Jerusalem.

Same hear. It's ok though. They don't have to know. Buddhism, Paganism, whatever religion or spiritual movement your doing and practicing is withing you .

So many definitions to enlightenment aha. What I believe is you are enlightened once you say that you are and you are believing it 100%. There is no need to seek enlightenment when it was in front of you the whole time.
