Make sure no wind could be responsible for the movements. Wind could come from your own breath, vents, and from the wind of nature.
Make sure no static electricity could be responsible for the movements. Static electricity is all over you and getting to close to an object that can be affected could result in an attraction between you and the object. It can look like telekinesis but simply be static. As proven by gtr, static electricity can pass through glass.
If you can avoid wind and static then your pretty much set to practice telekinesis.
To Avoid Wind & Static:
- Make sure your vents are not blowing out any air, or position yourself a fair distance away from them.
- Make sure no winds from outside are blowing into your house. Shutting any windows would solve the wind problem most of the time, but on windy days air can seep into your house even when your windows are shut. There tends to be less wind at night.
- Make sure you are positioned far from your target. Distance rules out static from yourself and wind from your breath. You can cover your mouth to prevent wind from your breath, but be sure to keep your hands a fair distance from the target.
Basically if you just check to make sure no wind from vents or nature can reach your target and you stay a fair distance away from your target you can safely say you are practicing telekinesis.
