PostSubject: The Dream Dictionary thread   The Dream Dictionary thread EmptyThu Jul 18, 2013 12:24 pm

Have you had a dream that you can't explain? Think it might be a precognitive one? What does your dream mean? Please share your dreams here and I will try my best to unravel their true meanings for you.

Frueds model of the mind see's three distinct parts, the id, the ego and the super ego. The Id represents our primal, evolutionary drives; the need for food and sex. This is subconscious. The ego is representative of our more civilized, social, machiavellian mind. The part that knows how to manipulate our surroundings to achieve our goals. Then finally. This is our conscious mind. The super ego is a doorway between the two parts, allowing certain ideas like "hunger" to filter through from the id to the ego to become "I'm hungry, I wonder how I can get food", while turning away less appealing thoughts such as "how can I sleep with my mother?"

Was Sigmund Freud right or was just "Sick-man Fraud"? I mean even the word psychoanalysis has anal right in the middle of it.

I deduce that this process of unlocking the subconscious mind is key to accessing your extra sensory abilities. We know from case studies of the great psychics from history including, Edgar Cacye and Michel de Nostradame, that trance work was used in their prophecies. Cayce too argued that the unconscious mind has access to information that the conscious mind does not.

Anybody?

I had a strange dream last night that a man had broken into our house and was trying to kill us. I have a massive metal plate that I was using as a shield, and I clubbed him to death with a wrench.

Edgar Cayce wrote this as a guide on remembering and interpreting your dreams

Keep a notebook beside the bed. Record your dreams as soon as possible after waking.
Suggest to yourself every night as you fall asleep, “I will remember my dreams.”

If you wake during the night, write down the main symbols, and the entire dream will usually come back in the morning.

Practice keen observation in your dreams through self-suggestion prior to sleep.
Look for these components in your dreams: the setting, the people, the action, the color, the feeling, and the words.

Work on analyzing your dreams every day, otherwise their progression will be difficult to assess.
If dreams are illogical, three reasons are possible: (1) Only the fragments of the dream have been recalled.(2)The dream is reflecting something illogical in the dreamer’s life. (3) Mental blocks have erased your recall.

If you are unable to decipher an important dream, suggest to yourself, before your next sleep, that the dream repeat itself more clearly.

Nightmares, which bring with them an inability to move or cry out, usually indicate the wrong diet. To end the nightmarish dreams change your diet.

Dreams that are unchanged through the years indicate the dreamer’s resistance to change.

Dreams of ill health can be either literal or symbolic warnings.

When a problem confronts you, ask by prayer for guidance to be sent to you through your dreams.
Be practical in your interpretations. Always look first for a lesson. What have you refused to face or been ignoring?

Observe carefully recurrent dreams, as well as the serially progressive ones. These often illustrate progress or failure.

Dreams are the reaction of the inner self to daytime activity and often show the way out of the dilemma. So relate them to current activity, because dreams may be retrospective as well as prospective.

Dreams come to guide and help, not to amuse. They direct your attention to errors of omission and commission and offer encouragement for right endeavors. They also give us the opportunity to pray for others and to help them bear their burdens.

If you receive an unusual message, reduce it to common terms. See if the symbolism can be of help in interpreting the dream.

Look for past-life experiences in your dreams. These manifest themselves not only in color, but in the proper costume and setting of their period. They come to warn you against repeating the same old mistakes; to explain your relationship and reactions to certain people and places; to reduce your confusions; to enable you to better understand life.

Do not fear conversation with the so-called “dead” in dreams. If the communication is one-sided, it denotes telepathy. If both participate, it may be an actual encounter of bodiless consciousness.

Dreams are primarily about self. Only a few dreams relate to family, friends, and world events.
Watch for mental telepathy in dreams.

Remember, persistence is necessary to learn any new language, and dream symbols are the forgotten language of the subconscious.

Give daily thanks to God the universe for all things and use daily prayer to improve the quality and reception of your dreams.

I had a dream about being at my great grandmother's house again(she died a month ago) and my ex-girlfriend came to visit. A girl that was an illegal immigrant and was escorted from here back to her homeland Suriname. The only strange part of the dream was seeing her smile to me and say that we will see each other again. And I don't know that for sure. I was hoping you could tell me what it means Mark.

I would be greatful Smile

Nazir, your dream is your subconscious telling you not to hold on to negative feelings you may have about people you have lost in your life, like your grandmother (my condolences) and that you should focus your attention on being happier and smiling in your life.

Does that make sense?

I can't really think of a dream that didn't make sense to me. All of my dreams usually have a meaning to why I am dreaming about them, whether it was because I saw it in a movie or even thought about it for one second. Although I just now, in the writing of this post, remembered a dream I had a very long time ago. Here's what I can remember of it. I was at a friend's house in his backyard on a swing set, swinging with my grandma. It was a party from what I can remember. Anyway time went on and I was in his garage. There was gasoline, or some explosive substance, on the garage floor. My friend, who was young and very immature at the time, was playing with an electrical wire or something, and I think I remember the feeling of anger because of how stupid I thought he was acting. I can't remember if the garage ever blew up. Also I don't know if I'm remembering this accurately, but the dream had a disturbing feeling, A sickening feeling. Anyway that's one strange dream I've had.

Also last night I had a dream that I can remember. I was under a huge truck holding onto the front of it. It was coming to a stop. I felt relieved because that meant I could let go. The truck almost stopped, and then started accelerating. The truck was going faster, and faster, I saw myself in third person, but felt what was going on. My body was dragging onto the road, so when it sped up the more friction was generated. I felt very frightened and extremely excited. I experienced so much excitement that I woke up from it. I don't remember what happened after that.

I'm not mark, but I've had a few lucid dreams, and how I had them was I realized I was dreaming. I said to myself in the dream "wait how'd I get here, I never got out of bed." Then I realized it was all a dream. I then did crazy things I would never do in real life, but I'm never 100% sure in the dream that it's a dream, so I'm always somewhat frightened that I'll have to face the consequences of my actions. I once had a lucid dream and I woke myself up in it, I simply pictured a red balloon pop. The pop startled me so much that I woke up.

A way to lucid dream is to do regular reality checks, as stated in the article. Where you can do anything, such as pinching yourself, to make sure you're in reality. As you do these checks in reality you will remember to do them whilst dreaming. When you do the reality check in a dream, the outcome will be different from when you did in reality. Because of the different outcome you realize you are dreaming. Another way would be stating how you got to where you are now, point b, to where you were earlier, point a, do this regularly, and you will remember to do it in a dream. In the dream you wont remember how you got to point b, so you know you are dreaming. One last way to lucid dream is to write an A on your hand, the A stands for awake. Check your hand regularly in reality, you will see the A. Once you're dreaming you will remember to look down at your hand, in the dream the A might be missing or distorted. You then realize you're dreaming and you have a lucid dream.

Those were some methods to lucid dream. In a lucid dream you realize that you're not in reality, and that you are dreaming. In a lucid dream you can practice many things without the restraint of reality. This is helpful because it will give your mind a feeling of what an action will "feel" like, making it easier to full-fill that action in reality because of your past experience in the dream. Hope this helped! Smile

Just do Telekinesis in your dream. You will be surprised how easy it is in that dream state. Just think of something and try and pick it up. Still start with smaller objects though!
